The Wonderful World of Dr. Butt

 
It all started on the golf course at the Buccaneer Golf Club in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Doc (Dr. Tom Butt) asked me what I thought about one of his former musical ventures.  I told him I didn't agree with some of the songs they had chosen and also that his singing and trumpet called for a BIG BAND type album.  He asked me if I would produce two songs to prove my point.  I said, "Doc, that's a lot of work."  Later, on the 7th tee, he said, "I'll bet you 'double or nothing' for those two songs, whoever wins this hole."  So, my second shot went into the ocean, dammit, and I had to pay my debt.  A few weeks later we went to work on the two songs.  The project turned out to be such great fun that we continued with it until we finished these nine songs.

I selected some of the all-time favorite Big Band standards and then gave them Dr. Butt's special treatment.  I think they will bring you many hours of listening pleasure.  A great time was had by the musicians, engineers, singers, arrangers and all who contributed and encouraged each other through this enjoyable project.
